No, a regular driver’s license, issued at least 12 months ago, is all you need to rent and drive a campervan in Iceland, as long as it is valid and written in English or accompanied by an official translation and.
What does my campervan rental include?
Our campervans come equipped with sleeping areas, a gas stove, a fridge, heating, and storage space. Depending on the model, you may also have Wi-Fi, GPS, or other useful amenities included.
Can I drive a campervan on all of Iceland’s roads?
Campervans are perfect for most paved and gravel roads in Iceland, but they are not allowed on F-roads (mountain roads) that require 4x4 vehicles. Be sure to stick to marked roads to avoid fines and damage.
Where can I park overnight in a camper?
You must park at designated campsites overnight. Wild camping is not allowed in Iceland, and there are many campsites around the country offering facilities like showers, electricity, and waste disposal.
